Bophelo House Special Needs Orphange- Kimberly, South Africa
Children who are not placed or who have special needs are placed in small family homes of 8 persons with house parents and stay in this home throughout their lives. Fetal Alcohol Syndrome and Aids are the most common reasons children are not placed. This center had kids with physical and mental disabilities too. This is a newly endorsed model in South Africa, has been set up by the Apostolic Faith Mission (AFM). It allows the children to have a home base for life. The AFM will help any church or community group set up such a system under their own name as they are an approved government welfare group. Covenant Children, Inc. endorses the Bophelo House model and is actively seeking funding to help this wonderful life-giving concept expand throughout all nations where children are suffering. |
